Why Do You #SupportCreativity

Support Creativity has gained many supporters, from volunteers to donors. It has been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t have done it without all the love people have shown us. Because of The REACH (Road to Excelling and Achieving Creative Heights) campaign, we now have 27 out of our 250 Guardians of Creativity.

What is a Guardian of Creativity, you ask? Well, a Guardian of Creativity is a monthly donor who supports creative students’ hopes and dreams. With just $10 a month, a person becomes a student’s superhero. How awesome is that? So, just think, one day of lunch at Shake Shack or Dig Inn (if you don't know, now you know) creates an opportunity for a college kid who needs assistance. And, we all know college tuition is a hardship we wish we could avoid. But thanks to our donors, our recipients can lift some of that burden.

Long-time donor, Guardian of Creativity, and volunteer, Sade Ortiz, has helped Support Creativity reach new heights since 2013. As a school counselor at White Plains High School, the importance of opportunity is woven through every day life for her students and their future. We asked her why she supported our organization, and this is what she said:

“I support creativity because I believe in opportunity. Support Creativity allows students to flourish and expand on their skill set without the additional burden of considering how to pay for school. As a proud daughter of immigrants, I have always been acutely aware of the opportunities that my parents had and shared with me. I want to be able to help open doors just as doors were opened for me.”

Our goal is to gain 250 Guardians of Creativity by the end of April. That way we can increase our three awards from $1,000 to $5,000 each!

You can help others achieve their dreams by donating $10/mo and becoming a Guardian of Creativity.
