Do what you love. Easier said than done right?
I didn't figure this out right away. I was lucky to find out what my passion was during college and switched my major for a timely graduation.
I know this isn't the case with many people though. I try and tell students to figure this out earlier in life, so that way they won't have to waste any time and money during school.
The video below illustrates the bumpy road I went through in order to find what I love to do. I animated this many years ago during grad school at Parsons The New School for Design.
Many years later, I am still the happiest guy on earth! My younger self was right; If you do what you love, and love what you, money will certainly follow.
I've successfully started my own graphic design business, Halucinated Design, animate comic books for 451, VJ to electronic dance music occasionally, and also run the Support Creativity scholarship program. These are all things that I honestly and absolutely enjoy doing.
I truly think the point of life is to be happy... so why wake up and hate what you're doing?
